Beauty Blog-Current top five favorites :o)

Hey guys! I know I did a blog a while back about some beauty products I liked.
So I thought I’d update you on my current top 5 favorites that I think are pretty awesome :)

for starters heres my current favorite LUSH products :)

1. Rehab Shampoo: by LUSH!   I like it a lot because it lathers up well, and its really repairing. This helps keep my hair healthy even though I straighten and curl it often.

2. American Cream Conditioner: I mentioned this product before, but I love it because it's the best smelling thing in the entire world. It's strawberry banana. Get it. It's awesome.

R&B Hair Moisturizer: I put this stuff in after I shower. It smells really good, and it helps keep my hair healthy, while giving it nice shine, AND protecting it from heat. It's an all in one life saver.

Next heres a new product line I've found that I absolutely LOVE.
4. Juice Beauty: this is a organic, gluten free, skincare and makeup line. I've tried plenty of things, but this stuff works. It is so nourishing and truly helpful to skin.
For skincare go to their website, scroll over "skincare" and select your skin type, and it takes you to products ideal for your skin needs.

Makeup- I love this makeup because it doesn't make me break out, it helps my skin so much to have organic makeup on my face so I'm not working against my skincare. I'm working towards it constantly, not just by washing my face- but by having organic, gluten free makeup . :)

Juice Beauty's website- http://www.juicebeauty.com

5. Last but not least a home-made teeth whitening solution:)

Mix baking soda, coconut oil, and cinnamon together and brush your teeth with it. My teeth whitened up the day after I started using it! And a big plus is that you're not putting harsh chemicals in your mouth  :). It doesn't taste awesome though. Just warning you. haha!

I hope you enjoyed some of my current beauty faves!
XO- till next time,
Zoe

LA Diary

Hi:)

You might have noticed that for the past month- I was in LA! I had an incredible time, and I wanted to fill you in on some of the adventures I had while I was there.

We had four bags, a guitar, and a keyboard. Plus two carry-ons. Carried by two people.
Filled in these bags were clothes to last two humans a month, and music equipment, merch, etc for the events I had. It was pretty hilarious.

Once we got settled in, we got to do some exploring :)
We made a stop at my sponsor, Manic Panic's LA store to get some goodies. New Make-up, jewelry, & hair products. It's always a blast going in there. It's like a giant candy store for rockers.

I got this cool rainbow choker, I always had these growing up but couldn't find them anywhere! Their store had a huge selection of them. :) I've also gotten some really rad clothes from their LA store. If you live in LA or NY check em' out, otherwise you can get stuff online :)

STUDIO TIME
While in LA I wrote and recorded my new EP! :) I can honestly say, I've never had such a great time in the studio. I put in so much time, effort, and heart into this EP.
It can be a bit stressful going into it and saying "alright.. ready, set, create something awesome" But this is definitely the most excitement I've ever felt in making music.

I worked with Ethan Kaufmann for the second time. This guy is so talented. I'm very lucky to have found a producer and co-writer I work so well with. I was joined in LA by two musicians that I've worked with over the past year, Jon Casel and Brandon Pertzborn. We had a blast.

ALSO- I got the pleasure of co-writing with Pete Murray and Neil Godfrey from Lo-Pro
I met them at the premiere of Battlefield Of The Mind which I'll fill you in on more in a sec :).

Then James McAlister (Sufjan Stevens drummer) helped me finish up drumming on a track!

Battlefield Of The Mind premiere!

I was so honored to attend and be a part of this. This documentary by Fran Strine Productions, Produced by Fran Strine, The Boot Campaign (Todd Poulson, Jerrod Felix), and Aaron Lewis of Stained - is focused on helping our homeless veterans and those suffering from PTSD. My song "Wake Me Up" was included on the download for this production. I was so excited and humbled when I found out that I was going to be a part of this, it's such an incredible cause. Plus, having family who has served- it was even more emotional for me.

At the premiere, they put on the most incredible concert I have ever seen. An all-star group formed by David Ellefson of MEGADETH, Troy McLawhorn of EVANESCENCE, Sal G of STAIND, Pete Murray, and Neil Godfrey of Lo-Pro, and Eye Empire performed.  It was surreal.

With producer Fran Strine, who is currently producing my EPK! I'm SO excited about that, I did some filming for the EPK while I was in LA. The interview was filmed by Adam Rothlein who directed My Chemical Romance's "The Black Parade Is Dead" and more.

David Ellefson from Megadeth!

Tea-Current Favorites!

So. I'm a big tea drinker. I love my tea. I drink tea in the morning, I drink tea on-the-go, and I drink at least 3 cups of tea before bed. I know that there are some other avid tea drinkers out there.. So I thought I 'd let you know some of my current favorites :).

"• Rose and lavender warm the heart
• Elderflower and chamomile relax and soothe
• Marigold petals are beautifully balancing"

Chamomile is a must for me. I get really energized at nighttime, I always feel like getting work done when I should be sleeping and vice versa. If I start drinking something with chamomile in it a few hours before bed it helps me get sleep when I need it.
Rose is another favorite because it's my favorite flower & smell.

I haven't drank much of this one yet, but it's really simple. It's an herbal blend of red clover, nettle leaves and dandelion leaves. The only thing I will say, is I add a lot of honey to this one because the taste is kind of bland at first in my opinion.

Since I was really little my mom gave me "Sleepy Time Tea"-
Any chamomile tea will help relax you before bed, but getting a tea that is labeled for 'sleep' specifically  is always good because it probably has other herbs it in to also help soothe and relax. This specific tea has chamomile, lemongrass, and spearmint. I personally love this brand because of the good memories it brings back :). Tea is kind of like a perfume sometimes, it can bring back a certain place, or memory, or time of year depending on whats in it. Pretty cool.

My current obsession for tea is a store called "Teavana"-
Everytime I walk into this store I want to buy everything. Unfortunately their teas are a bit expensive for me personally. So I have to get a can of tea every once an a while. The fun part about these teas is that they are loose leaf. You can find tea bags at pretty much any store that sells tea and they are inexpensive. The tea looks so pretty with the flowers and herbs still visible in it. The entire store smells AMAZING. Most Teavana stores make tea in the store to-go which gives you a chance to try it out.
A personal favorite of mine is the Lavender Dreams White Tea, and the Rooibos Chai Tea, but I've only tried a few so go look around!

Comment and let me know your thoughts! :)

Flight Fears! (How To Tackle Them)

When I was little I LOVED flying! I thought it was so fun. I don't know what happened.. I just started realizing that I was in a metal machine. Thousands of feet in the air. In some aspects that's really cool. But when I'm in the plane, it really get's to me. I've talked to some friends who have the same problem.

Some tips that help me :

Desire
One thing I NEED to do with my life is travel. And I know some of you feel the same way. So getting in the mind set of "I want to see the world. I'm so thankful have the ability to & that I can get from point A to point B so quickly." The fact is, if you have the desire like I do to travel, you just let it set in that this is the quickest, and some times only way to do so. Unless you want to swim across the ocean and get eaten by sharks. Which is much more scary than flying.

Location
Deciding what scares you about flying can help ease the fear. I'm mainly scared of heights. Falling.
So, sometimes sitting in the aisle and thinking about it just being a bus helps. If you are claustrophobic, you need as much open space as possible. Sit next to the window and look out into the open air. That will help. Also try to avoid getting a ticket right next to the engines. They're loud, and can be scary if you're not used to them. In my opinion.

Comfort
When I fly I bring entertainment. Things to keep my mind from going in circles. My laptop, nintendo, a good book, something to draw and write with, movies to watch. It just depends what mood I'm in that day. Movies are actually the best thing for me, because usually my flights aren't much longer than that.
Bringing a blanket, pillow, or stuffed animal helps. Personally, I can rarely sleep on the plane. But maybe thats your key.

Fun
Think about the fun stuff!
Drink carts. Snacks. Sky Mall Magazine. Meeting new people. Seeing the world in a different way. I have the most fun when I fly on Virgin Airlines. Their planes are so fun. They have a lot of cool features, like purple lights.

Understand
Understanding how planes work definitely helps. One of my biggest fear triggers is turbulence. My grandma who flew planes as a WASP in WWII, taught me that it's just air changes as you go over different types of terrain.

I hope some of these tips helped ease any flying anxiety that you have!
Let me know if you have any other good tips :)

Lush! New Obsession.

New favorite store!

I've always preferred mostly vegan, cruelty free, natural products.
I've known about Lush for their amazing bath bombs for a while.
BUT I never took the time to get to know their other products.

First off, with my allergies... the easy to read ingredients on the back of everything helps me quickly decide whether or not I can use the product. Due to the natural, handmade, chemical-free products- I can use them with no irritation.
The products I got were:

"Blousey Shampoo" It's non color-stripping. And since I dye my hair with "Manic Panic", the bright colors in my hair stay longer.

I condition with "American Cream" conditioner. It leaves my hair super soft and strong! And it dried non-frissy without even having to put other products in my hair.

"Tea Tree Water Toner" I love because even after I cleanse my face, it wipes away any excess dirt or makeup, and leaves my face feeling so fresh. Plus is smells amazing!

"Ultrablast Toothy Tabs" These are the best tooth cleaners I've ever used! They foam up so well, and leave my mouth feeling so much fresher than a regular tooth paste & my mouth continues to feel clean throughout the day. They have a variety of flavors. I chose this one because it sounded the most cleansing to me.

"Colour Supplement in Light Pink" I love this face makeup because it is so natural. I have  extremely sensitive skin, and this is so refreshing! Mix it with a moisturizer for a tinted look. Or put straight on for full coverage. It looks great, and heals as well!

I've owned "Bubblegum Lip Scrub" for a while now, and It works so well. When my lips get chapped I scrub my lips with it and it leaves them so soft! They come in different flavors :).

For Lip Balm, I currently use "Lip Service".

I love Lush products because I can feel confident in the ingredients, they feel and smell great, and they truly help my skin. I highly recommend them! And they're cruelty free! <3
